Increase your decompression options with the advanced, gas-switching Suunto Vytec DS |
This gas-switching, multi-mode, decompression dive computer with deep stop algorithm and optional wireless tank pressure transmitter will take your diving to the next level. |
Suunto Vytec DS is an advanced dive computer designed for demanding divers. The three operating modes, gas-switching functionality, optional wireless tank pressure transmitter, and the Suunto RGBM deep stop algorithm combine to make it one of the most feature-rich and versatile dive computers available. Gas switching, and the RGBM deep stop algorithm, offer increased decompression options that open up more diving possibilities. And, with the optional wireless tank pressure transmitter, there's not much that you need to know that isn't visible on the clear display on your wrist. In addition to having mode-specific information available to you at all times, your Suunto Vytec DS records and stores data for later analysis. You can view, compare, and analyze your diving performance through the optional, specially designed PC interface.

Deeper Understanding : |
Suunto Vytec DS has three operating modes: Air, Nitrox, and Gauge. The Air mode is used for diving with standard air, the Nitrox mode for up to three nitrox mixes, and the Gauge mode for use as a bottom timer. When in Nitrox mode, you can accelerate decompression by switching to a gas mix with a higher oxygen percentage. You can preset up to three different gas mixes (with between 21 and 99% oxygen) and set PO2 values for each individual gas. While diving, it's quick and easy to switch between enabled gas mixes. Gas switching is only allowed for gases that lie within the chosen maximum PO2 limits. CNS and OTU values are displayed using an Oxygen Limit Fraction (OLF) bar graph. With the optional wireless transmission enabled, Suunto Vytec DS displays tank pressure and calculates remaining air-time based on current gas consumption. There are two low-pressure warnings; one factory set, and one user adjustable. You can use the wireless transmission in the Air, Nitrox and Gauge modes. The pressure transmitter is 300-bar (4000psi) compatible, and has a user-replaceable battery. In the Gauge mode, Suunto Vytec DS works as a bottom timer, and also provides accurate profile sampling and bookmarking functions. A dive timer with a reset function displays the dive time in minutes and seconds. This is extremely useful for timing accurate bottom times and decompression stops.

Information in Action : |
Suunto Vytec DS is packed with solutions that help you make safe and responsible decisions underwater. Depth, time, and tank pressure measurements (if optional wireless transmitter is enabled), together with complete decompression-stop data, ensure that you know precisely how long you have been underwater, how deep you are, and when and how fast to surface. Suunto Vytec DS incorporates Suunto RGBM, which allows you to choose a deep stop algorithm. This enables you to make iterative stops at depth instead of the traditional safety stop. When using deep stops, the countdown timer for each stop is displayed in seconds, with the option of performing either one or two minute stops. During a decompression dive, this function allows you to make the most of your time underwater without jeopardizing your safety. In addition to its versatile dive functionality, Suunto Vytec DS also boasts extensive memory and logbook functions that enable you to keep track of your past dives, monitor your progress and plan your training.

| Suunto Software : |
Suunto Dive Manager (SDM) is software that enables deeper understanding and better graphical representation of the data recorded and stored by Suunto Vytec DS. With SDM you can download your dives to a PC and create a more detailed dive logbook. You can also analyze and plan your diving activities and keep a training diary. You can also create your own activity reports by adding photos and text to the profiles. |

Wireless transmitter : By using the Suunto D9's optional wireless transmitter, the diver can also monitor tank pressure and air consumption data from the wrist. The remaining tank pressure is displayed both numerically and graphically, and an estimation of the remaining air time is given throughout the dive. This allows the diver to monitor the remaining air supply at the same time he or she monitors depth and time. Real time air-consumption is also stored in the memory. |
